Ways to improve Math No. 5: Speed Mathematics:

June 19, 2009

“If there is a choice between getting an electric shock and solving 54287 x 685 without calculator, I would prefer the former” says Ann, Grade 8, Massachusetts. This is completely understandable. Our children in US are being made very habitual to use calculators at very young ages. Unlike children in most of the Asian countries, they find it rather difficult to deal with multiplication, division, percentages, fractions and other similar problems. Researches have proven the use of calculator in very young age as one of the reasons for such difficulties at later schooling years.

“Our education system may take some time to improve upon but as a parent, I would like to see the change before my child gets out of school” says Dr. Randy Goldberg on being requested to give a feedback by a private tutoring company.

However, we now have a solution. We find many services in our country who offers great programs in building up speed and accuracy in mathematical problems. These work on highly scientific methods and really bring the best out of students. The idea of solving complex mathematical problems in mind itself is simply fascinating. It is even better for young brains as children like to boast about their skills among their peers, which, in a way, is very helpful. Children get more interested into it and hence develop perfection soon.

Certain affordable online tutoring services also exist which provide excellent programs in speed mathematics taken by live tutors. The students need not to go anywhere and develop good skill set in the subject. You can also keep those as an option.

You can click here to discuss with an academic counselor regarding the same.
